Eligibility Requirements

  • Applicants must be dependent children of full-time employees in the financial services industry (commercial banks, investment banks, securities brokerage firms, insurance companies, fund and asset management companies, credit card and finance companies and similar businesses as determined by the Foundation). Employees must be presently employed with five years of experience OR no longer employed in this field but had ten years of experience which ended no longer than five years prior to the GAR Scholarship application closing date (which is located on the top of the application).
  • Students must be graduating high school seniors who are enrolling as full time first year students in pursuit of a four-year bachelor's degree at an accredited college/university in the United States.
  • Students must have a minimum grade point average of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) and rank in the top 20% of their class.
  • Students must demonstrate financial need.
  • Students must be a US citizen or legal resident.

The scholarship currently covers the cost of any educational expenses up to the cost of full-time in-state undergraduate tuition, for eight uninterrupted fall and spring semesters, and includes a $1,000 book award each year. Receipt of the scholarship is contingent upon continuously meeting program criterion and expectations as set by the Program Advisor.

The program allows students to take part in leadership workshops, community engagement activities, and meetings with university, community and alumni leaders and volunteers. The ALS program also includes monthly cohort meetings, one-on-ones with the program adviser , and the opportunity to serve BGSU and the local community.

Applicants must be incoming, first-time students enrolled at BGSU who demonstrate a commitment to leadership and community service. Applicants must also:

Be admitted to BGSU  main campus  prior to 11:59pm on December 3, 2018

Submit a completed Honors College application prior to 11:59pm on December 3, 2018

Hold a 3.5 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale on file with the Office of Admissions by 11:59pm on December 4, 2018

Score a minimum of 27 (composite) on the ACT or combined score of 1280 on the SAT on file with the Office of Admissions by 11:59pm on December 8, 2018

Be available to participate in selection weekend, February 1-2, 2019

Financial need may be considered, but is not a requirement to apply

It is strongly encouraged that applicants complete a FAFSA form, listing BGSU as one of the schools that should receive the data from the form.

Multiple finalists will have the opportunity to interview on campus with the selection committee. As many as six recipients will be chosen to enter the program each year.

The Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. With the 30th class in 2018, the Foundation has provided over 6,000 Coca-Cola Scholars with more than $66 million in educational support. 150 Coca-Cola Scholars are selected each year to receive this $20,000 scholarship.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must be:

  • Current high school (or home-schooled) student attending a school in the U.S. (or select DoD schools) who will graduate during the 2018-2019 academic school year
  • U.S. Citizens, U.S. Nationals, U.S. Permanent Residents, Refugees, Asylees, Cuban-Haitian Entrants, or Humanitarian Parolees - based on the guidelines utilized by U.S. Department of Education for Federal Financial Aid eligibility
  • Will receive high school diploma during current academic year
  • Planning to pursue a degree at an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution

Applicants may not be:

  • Children or grandchildren of employees, officers, or owners of Coca-Cola bottling companies, The Coca-Cola Company, Company divisions or subsidiaries.
  • International students (with the exception of students at DoD schools)
  • High school graduates
  • Temporary residents

Gather This Information

  • A transcript – There is no need to upload, email, mail, fax, or submit in any other fashion, a copy of your transcript. While completing the application, you will be asked to type in your specific grades since your freshman year and their course levels. Having your transcript nearby will help you fill in this information.
  • Contact info – The name, email address and phone number of your guidance counselor and principal.
  • A list of school and non-school related clubs and organizations in which you have participated since your freshman year as well as any corresponding leadership positions.
  • A list of honors and awards that you received when participating in school, and non school-related clubs and organizations and the level of each award (Local, State, Regional or National) since your freshman year.
  • A list of volunteer organizations with which you have served and the number of hours served with each, plus any awards and honors that you have received for your participation since freshman year.
  • A list of employment during school and during the summer.  You will need to know weeks and hours worked.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Be enrolled full-time as a high school senior in the United States with plans to enter college in the United States no later than the fall following graduation
  • Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor's degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the United States (students may start their studies at a two-year institution and then transfer to a four-year institution)
  • Demonstrate critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required)
  • Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities
  • Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity
  • Maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0
  • Be a United States citizen

Eligibility:

Competition open to all high school seniors who are U.S. citizens and are planning careers of service to the United States in local, state, or federal government.  All awards are for one year

Scholarships of $500 to $5,000 for students planing careers in government service, for study at the college of recipients' choice.
