On Thursday, March 9 the AWHS Marching Generals the staff and students of AWHS held a send-off celebration for 48 students who are advancing to the next level of competition.
Connor Long to Compete at Nationals
On Saturday, March 4 Connor Long ran to a 5th place finish in the 1600 meter run at the Ohio State Indoor Track Championships. He earned the school record and qualified for the New Balance National Indoor Championships in Boston, MA. Congratulations and good luck, Connor!
Two Wrestlers Advance to OHSAA State Finals
Two members of the AWHS varsity wrestling team will compete in the OHSAA State Championship Tournament at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus, March 10-12. Best of luck to Tommy Ling and Luke Wymer!
DECA Students Head to Columbus
The DECA team had a powerhouse crew this year, sweeping the District level of competition with 23 first place awards and 45 students qualifying for state competition. The following juniors and seniors will compete in 18 individual role play and principles events, 16 team management and decision-making events, and 11 marketing campaign and entrepreneurship events. They will put their business, marketing and finance skills to the test ton Friday and Saturday, March 10-11 to try to earn a sport to International Competition.
