Anthony Wayne Junior High FCCLA members are working to keep our roads safer. The chapter received a $1,000 stipend from FCCLA Ohio and the Ohio Department of Public Safety to complete a public service project educating the public on the dangers of distracted driving.
FCCLA students were challenged to create a poster encouraging drivers to remain vigilant behind the wheel. Three students received prizes for their poster submissions. The top three entries are as follows:
First Place: Madalyn McKnight, 8th Grade: Save a Life, Don't Text and Drive - $25 Amazon gift card
Second Place: Hailey Michel, 7th Grade: Distracted Driving - $15 Barnes & Noble gift card
Third Place: Ana Rodebaugh, 7th Grade: Drive Safe - $10 Starbucks gift card
The AWJH chapter has also submitted their projects to be considered for the National Program, with the winner of the $2500 prize will be announced at the FCCLA State Leadership Conference in April.
Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is a student leadership organization related to the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Family Consumer Sciences courses offered at Anthony Wayne Junior High. They are satellite programs of Penta Career Center.
