AWHS Students Advance to International Competition

A powerhouse team of forty-five AWHS students traveled to Columbus March 11-12 to put their business, marketing and finance skills to the test at the state DECA competition. They competed in 18 individual role play and principles events, 16 team management and decision-making events, and 11 marketing campaign and entrepreneurship events. 
 
The following students placed in their divisions and will advance to compete at the International Career Development Conference in Orlando, Florida from April 22-25.
 
1st Place: Evan Stigall and Sammy Rodriguez - Business Law and Ethics Team Management
2nd Place: Blake Luther and Luke Essig - Financial Services Team Management
2nd Place: Ally Roberts and Hannah Johnson - Integrated Marketing Campaign (Service)
3rd Place: Mallori Pollock - Integrated Marketing Campaign (Event)
5th Place: Helena Goodwin - Marketing Communications Series Event
5th Place: Will Luther - Accounting Applications Series Event
 
The AWHS DECA chapter is a satellite program of Penta Career Center. The advisor is Mrs. Becky Stutz. The District is grateful for this continued partnership that allows students to have opportunities to participate in these leadership and skills competitions.
