Thank you for the many ways that you took the time to show your gratitude and support for our staff during Teacher Appreciation Week. Each of our teachers goes above and beyond to provide outstanding educational experiences for our students, and your gratitude goes a long way in providing encouragement. If you haven’t already, I ask that you take a few moments to send a note of thanks to your child's teachers.
District Facilities Planning: Further Input Needed
The Collaborative presented its facilities planning recommendations at a public meeting earlier this week. A recording is available for your review on the District website. Also on this webpage is a link to a survey requesting your feedback on their proposals. Please take a moment to share your thoughts with us before May 10. Your input will help the District plan for maintenance, updates and upgrades to our school facilities for the next several years.
Board of Education Meeting: Monday, May 15
The Anthony Wayne Board of Education will hold its regular meeting at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, May 15 at the AWHS Auditorium. Meetings are also streamed live on YouTube for those who cannot attend in person.
Spring Fine and Performing Arts Events
- 51st Annual District Spring Art Show: Saturday, May 13 from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Fallen Timbers Solo Recital: Monday, May 8 at 7:30 p.m.
- Whitehouse Kindergarten Music Program: Monday, May 8 at 7:30 p.m.
- Grades 6-8 Choir Concert: Tuesday, May 9 at 7:00 p.m.
- AWHS Band Concert: Thursday, May 11 at 7:00 p.m.
- 8th Grade Band Concert & Chicken BBQ: Tuesday, May 16 at 6:30 p.m.
- 7th Grade Band Concert & Chicken BBQ: Wednesday, May 17 at 7:00 p.m.
Class of 2023 Graduation
Commencement for the AWHS Class of 2023 will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 20 in the Stroh Center on the campus of Bowling Green State University. More information is available on the Class of 2023 webpage. Congratulations to each of the graduates and their families!
Last Day of School
The last day of school for students is Friday, May 26. In the meantime, the last few weeks of school are filled with activity. Please check the District calendar for a full listing.
