Dear Anthony Wayne Local Schools Stakeholder,
First and foremost, thank you for being a part of our school community and for your contributions to our success. This letter serves to update you on our District Strategic Planning process and Facility Master Planning. A brief description and timeline of each is shared with you below.
District Strategic Planning
School districts and other organizations use the strategic planning process to reflect upon their progress, gather feedback, review their core values, mission and vision, and plan for the future. Anthony Wayne Local Schools has partnered with Finding Leaders, an educational consultant to support the District’s strategic planning. Board of education members, administrators, staff members, students, families, community members, business owners, clergy, and more have been a part of this collaborative effort. Thank you for your contributions!
As of today, we are approximately halfway through the strategic planning process. We are hopeful to present the Strategic Plan to the AWLS Board of Education in August for review and approval.

Facility Master Planning
A facilities master plan is used to guide the long-term maintenance and management of a school district's buildings and properties to ensure they meet the needs of students today, and into the future.
This planning process was last used during the 2015-16 school year. At that time, the facility master plan recommended and guided the renovations made at five of our six schools and the construction of the new Whitehouse Primary School.
In the summer of 2022, the Board of Education selected The Collaborative, an architectural and facility master planning to conduct a facilities assessment and conduct research to evaluate the District’s needs. When this work is done in the fall of 2022, the District will gather stakeholder input to develop a new facility master plan. This process should be complete and the Facility Master Plan approved sometime in the late spring of 2023.
The comprehensive nature of the strategic and facilities research and planning process does take some time, and we are grateful for each of the participants in this collaborative effort. Once complete and approved, the District Strategic Plan and Facility Master Plan will guide the District’s decision making for the next several years.
Updates are provided to our community as they become available. If you have questions about the Strategic Planning Process or Facility Master Planning, please call 419-877-5377. Your continued contributions are welcome and appreciated.
