AWHS Mock Crash Emphasizes the Dangers of Impaired Driving
On Monday, April 28, 2025, Anthony Wayne High School juniors and seniors participated in a powerful Mock Crash simulation at the AWHS Soccer/Track stadium. The event demonstrated the serious consequences of impaired and distracted driving, featuring student volunteers, local police and fire departments, and an air ambulance response. After leaving the "accident scene," the students also witnessed a mock trial and sentencing to better understand the legal implications of driving under the influence.

With prom, graduation and summer break just around the corner, the simulation served as a critical reminder to make safe decisions.

A special thank you to our partners who made this impactful event possible: the Monclova, Waterville, and Whitehouse Police and Fire Departments; Mercy Health; Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home; and Judge Dan Hazard of the Maumee Municipal Court. Thanks also to the student actors who participated in the simulation: Cooper Kahl, Bree Moser, Owen Palmer and Addy Williams.
