The Anthony Wayne Local Schools Athletic Department is excited to announce Chandler Adams as the next head coach of the women’s basketball program, pending approval from the Board of Education on May 12, 2025.
Coach Adams brings with him a unique blend of passion, dedication, and experience that will further elevate the District’s already thriving women’s basketball program. Over the past three seasons, Chandler has served as an assistant coach for the Anthony Wayne men’s basketball team, making significant contributions to the program’s success and development.
Coach Adams is committed to being both a student and teacher of the game of basketball. Throughout his time with the men’s program, Coach Adams demonstrated an exceptional ability to connect with student-athletes and foster a winning culture. His already existing relationship with Anthony Wayne, combined with his commitment to excellence and strategic approach to the game, has set the stage for a seamless transition to a head coaching role.
After numerous discussions and interviews, the athletic department is confident that Coach Adams is ready to take on the responsibilities of leading his own varsity program and guiding our talented young women towards continued success.

Chandler Adams follows Jami Carter as the head coach of the AWHS girls basketball program. Carter led the team for seven seasons, finishing with a record of 117-52, including two state final-four appearances.
