July Letter to Stakeholders

July 1, 2024

Dear Anthony Wayne Stakeholders,

We hope that you are having an enjoyable summer and have some time scheduled to spend time together during Family Week this week. It won’t be long before we are ready to welcome students back for a new school year. Be sure to read further down in this message for information about Returning Student Registration and Back to School.

I’m honored that the Board of Education has appointed me to serve as the interim superintendent of the District, and am working with Dr. Fritz to ensure a smooth transition. I look forward to collaborating with our staff, families and community members to provide the best possible opportunities for our students.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or suggestions you may have.

See you soon,

Kevin Herman, Interim Superintendent
Anthony Wayne Local Schools

Board of Education Meetings
Please refer to the Board meeting recap letter sent to stakeholders following the June meeting or watch the meeting video recording for updates from the Board of Education. The AWLS Board of Education will hold its next  regular meeting at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 5 at the Central Administrative Office.

Family Week
Enjoy a week free of school-related activities and events! Family Week continues through July 7. The District encourages families to Play Hide and Seek with the General by searching for 3D printed action figures of the AW General mascot that are hidden throughout the community. More information is available on our website.

Road Closure Notice
Monclova Road will be closed between Waterville-Monclova and Jerome Road starting Monday, August 5 for a bridge replacement project. The closure will last 45 days. Please plan to use Waterville-Monclova Road to Stitt Road to Russell Road to Jerome Road as a detour.

Chromebook Care
Please help your child take good care of their school-issued devices over the summer. Refer to the instructions for Chromebook Care and contact us as soon as possible if you have any problems.
