April is celebrated at the Month of the Military Child and Anthony Wayne Local Schools is excited to honor the more than 100 military-connected students who attend our schools.
The community is encouraged to show their support for the families who are affected by the sacrifices associated with having a loved one serve in a branch of the U.S. military. Here's how you can show your appreciation:
- Paint the Town Purple
From April 1 - 30, display purple lights, banners, ribbons, balloons and other decor at your home or business.
- Attend the April 15 AWLS Board of Education Meeting
Anthony Wayne's military-connected students will be recognized at the April board meeting at 6:00 p.m. If your family would like to be included in the presentation, please RSVP your child online here.
- Submit a service member to be recognized on the AWHS Wall of Honor
We would like to honor graduates of Anthony Wayne High School and current and former employees of the District by including them in our fall 2024 class of honorees for the Wall of Honor. Submit a name for inclusion by clicking here.
- Participate in Purple Week activities
Each of our buildings will celebrate our Purple Star Generals during the week of April 15-19. More details will be shared as they are available, but students are encouraged to participate in these spirit week activities to show their support for military students and families.
