Dear Anthony Wayne Families,
Technology has allowed us to connect more freely with one another through social media, gaming networks, messaging apps and other online platforms. While it certainly has its advantages, it also comes with enormous responsibility.
Next week, students in grades 5-12 will participate in a Digital Safety assembly during school on Wednesday, September 6 in order to help them understand how to safely interact online. They will hear from guest speaker Richard Guerry who will discuss responsible use of digital tools, identifying malicious digital behaviors and trends, and avoiding negative interactions online.
This presentation is also available to parents and community members. Please consider attending the Digital Safety Awareness Night on Wednesday, September 6 from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the Anthony Wayne High School Commons. You will learn:
- the role artificial intelligence is playing in online content
- what privacy settings actually mean
- how to manage your digital footprint
- tips for keeping yourself and your child safe online
We hope to see you at this important one-hour presentation. If you have specific questions about the content to be presented, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Kevin Herman, Assistant Superintendent
Anthony Wayne Local Schools
