About Facilities Master Planning
A Facilities Master Plan is developed and used to guide the long-term maintenance and management of a school district's buildings and properties to ensure they meet the needs of students today, and into the future.
This planning process was last used during the 2015-16 school year. At that time, the facility master plan recommended and guided the renovations made at five of our six schools and the construction of the new Whitehouse Primary School. The District will once again evaluate its facilities needs and begin making plans for needed improvements.
Facilities Planning Updates
- The Collaborative, a local architectural and facility master planning agency was chosen to conduct research, evaluate the District’s needs, gather stakeholder input and develop a new facility master plan.
- Representatives from The Collaborative, District Operations staff and administrators are working together to complete a facilities assessment. This phase should be complete in early fall.
- The District will then meet with stakeholders to review the assessment and other data and begin discussions on the future facilities needs of the district.
- A timeline for completion and implementation of the plan will be developed in collaboration between the District and the Collaborative, but approval is expected by late fall/early winter of the 2022-23 school year.
The comprehensive nature of the strategic and facilities research and planning process does take some time, and we are grateful for each of the participants in this collaborative effort. Once complete and approved, the District Strategic Plan and Facility Master Plan will guide the District’s decision making for the next several years.
Updates will be provided to our community as they become available. If you have questions about Facility Master Planning, please call 419-877-5377. Your continued contributions are welcome and appreciated.
