AW Families of Students Entering Grades 5-12:
As the school year draws to a close, we want you to know your students will be permitted to keep their school-issued Anthony Wayne Chromebooks over summer break. This is being done to promote digital literacy and enable some buildings to provide valuable enrichment/learning opportunities to students in June and July. The class of 2024 will return their devices before graduation.
The following guidelines are provided to make this experience as trouble-free as possible:
Keep your Chromebook charged. Leaving the battery drained over the summer can reduce its life.
Do not use your Chromebook in a hazardous environment. It should be kept away from liquids, direct sunlight, extreme hot and cold temperatures, etc.
Keep Chromebooks safe and secure at all times.
Loss of a device is considered neglect and is not covered under the Chromebook Protection Plan.
If a device is stolen, a police report will have to be provided to the AW Technology Department in order to replace it. Without a police report, families will be charged the full replacement cost of the Chromebook before the District can replace the device.
Returning School-Issued Technology
If your child is transferring to a different school for the 2024-25 school year, please complete a Student Withdrawal/Transfer Request form and submit it to your child’s school office. Please return your child’s school-issued Chromebook to your child’s school.
