AWHS Hosts Send-Off Celebration for Student Organizations

Anthony Wayne High School held a send-off celebration on Wednesday, April 24 for several student organizations that will compete in upcoming state and international level in their student organizations. Led by representatives of the AWHS Marching Generals, students paraded through the halls during HomeBase, receiving good luck cheers and high fives from their peers and school staff.
 
Congratulations to the following students for advancing to the next level of competition, and best of luck as you prepare your final presentations!

Attending the FCCLA State Leadership Conference in Columbus, Ohio on April 25-26 are Aliza Borest and Skylar Smelley, both in Career Investigation; Fiona Freeman in Teach & Train; Grace Emahiser in Chapter Service Project; Makenna Reinhart in Event Management; Summer Link in Recycle and Redesign; Addison Metzger in Fashion Design; and AJ Jacobs and Grant Hubley in Professional Presentation.

 AWHS Choirs & Bands
The Anthony Wayne High School music programs will compete in the OMEA Large Group State Band and Choir Adjudicated Events on Saturday, April 27. The choirs will travel to VanBuren High School and the bands will travel to Findlay High School.

 

Science Olympiad Team
Qualifying for state in their first year as a team, the AWHS Science Olympiad team will travel to Columbus, Ohio on Saturday, April 27. Representing Anthony Wayne are: Kennedy Doro, Zoe Doro, Caleb Finkler, Owen Finkler, James Geary, Arjun Jayaraman, Aanya Kakrecha, Connor Link, Brayden Loo, Dylan Loo, Aradhya Muthumula, Benjamin Ni, Kevin Ni, Ryan Parker, Tyler Pellek, Evan Raezer, Myky Tu and Cole Zdunczyk.

AW-Penta DECA Chapter
Ten students will represent Anthony Wayne at the DECA International Career Development Conference April 27-30 in Anaheim, California. Competing for the Generals include Sammy Rodriguez and Evan Stigall in Business Law and Ethics; Grant Przybylski in Automotive Services Marketing; Catessa Hires in Quick Service Restaurant Management; Ian Pulhuj in Personal Financial Literacy; Grace Baumgartner and Lauren Huffman in Entrepreneurship; Maddy Jones and Miles Neeb in Marketing Management; and Will Luther in Accounting Services.

AW-Penta FFA Chapter
Students will attend the FFA State Convention in Columbus, Ohio, May 2-3. Carol Beck, Jaidyn Triggs and Grady St. John will compete as state finalists in the Agriscience Fair, and Summer Muhlenkamp will compete for the Equine Entrepreneurship Proficiency Award.
 
Makayla Tellier and Ronald Bischoff will receive their State FFA Degrees and Braelynne Stuard and Jaidyn Triggs will be recognized for their gold-rated officer books.
