Students enrolled in Anthony Wayne High School's 3D Design classes are hoping their sculptures make a BIG impact at the district's spring art show.
Taking inspiration from artist Wayne White, students were challenged by instructor Ms. Hailey Kirchner to create a large-scale mask of a famous artist. Working in teams or small groups, students first formed the foundation of the sculpture, then added layers of decoupage before painting the masks. The masks must be wearable, be reflective of the artists' features and contain elements that represent the artists' style or most famous works.
The masks will be on display at the 52nd Annual Spring Art Show at Anthony Wayne High School on Saturday, May 11, 2024. The event runs from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and will feature hundreds of pieces of art from students in grades 3-12.
