Greetings Anthony Wayne Junior High Families,
We hope you and your families have an enjoyable Spring Break. Students will return to school on Tuesday, April 2nd.
Incentive Day
This week, we discussed our end of year incentive day for students! *All students will have the opportunity to participate in Incentive Day on the last day of school. Students can earn bonus incentives for reaching any of the following indicators:
- Reaching their projected performance level on the Ohio State Tests (up to 3 opportunities)
- Having 0 missing assignments for the 4th quarter
- Having 0 unexcused absence hours for the 4th quarter
*Students will be disqualified for the incentive day if they receive an In-School Reassignment or Out-of-School Suspension during the 4th quarter (assigned on 3/20 or after).
Ohio State Tests
As a reminder, April is Ohio State Testing season. The dates for state testing are listed below. It is important that students have their devices fully charged and are at school on time. Students will take the tests that align with their current course load. Most 7th graders do not take a science test.
- ELA Testing (ELA 7 & 8, ELA II): April 9 & 11
- Math Testing (Math 7, Math 8, Algebra I, Geometry): April 16 & 18
- Science Testing (Science 8, Biology): April 23 & 25
Military Families to be Recognized
At the April 15th Board of Education Meeting (beginning at 6:00pm), all military children within the AW district will be honored. AW has roughly 110 military children across all six buildings. April is the Month of the Military Child and Dr. Fritz is excited to honor the sacrifices of our military children. Please complete this RSVP form if your child(ren) and family will be in attendance and participate in a short presentation.

Homework helpers sessions have concluded for the school year.

A special message from the AWPTA: Time to show our appreciation!
Teacher Appreciation Week is coming up the week of May 6-10 and the AWPTA would like your help in showing the teachers and staff at Fallen Timbers Middle School and Anthony Wayne Junior High School how AWesome they are!
Our goal is to provide several meals during the week along with daily mailbox goodies for EACH and EVERY one of the 160+ staff members to thank them for all of their hard work and dedication to our students this year!
But we cannot do this without the support of our families so please consider donating in one of the following ways:
? Send in cash or check (made out to the AWPTA) in an envelope with AWPTA written on it and have your student give it to their homeroom teacher (at FT) or the office (at JH).
