1:1 Device Program
Anthony Wayne utilizes a 1:1 Google Chromebook program, providing each student in grades 5-12 with a device for the purposes of facilitating the effective integration of technology into the classroom.

Classrooms
All instructional areas in the District contain at least one dedicated enterprise-class wireless access point providing maximum bandwidth to connected computing devices for accessing the data network and Internet. Each classroom is configured so that instructors can project their computer display and interact with that content for the purpose of creating engaging and highly viewable instruction.

Computer Labs & Other Technology Resources
Computer labs are available for technology-specific tasks such as video editing, 3D animation and computer assisted design. Further, additional technology carts with specialized devices have been assigned to some faculty for specific classroom uses. Other available technology tools include SmartBoards, LCD televisions with Apple TVs, Clevertouch systems and LCD projectors.

Summer Chromebook Care

Students entering grades 5-12 are permitted to keep their school-issued Anthony Wayne Chromebooks over summer break. This is being done to promote digital literacy and enable some buildings to provide valuable enrichment/learning opportunities to students in June and July.

The following guidelines are provided to make this experience as trouble-free as possible:

  • Keep your Chromebook charged. Leaving the battery drained over the summer can reduce its life.

  • Do not use your Chromebook in a hazardous environment. It should be kept away from liquids, direct sunlight, extreme hot and cold temperatures, etc.

  • Keep Chromebooks safe and secure at all times.

    • Loss of a device is considered neglect and is not covered under the Chromebook Protection Plan.

    • If a device is stolen, a police report will have to be provided to the AW Technology Department in order to replace it. Without a police report, families will be charged the full replacement cost of the Chromebook before the District can replace the device.

Returning School-Issued Technology

If your child is transferring to a different school for the 2024-25 school year, please complete a Student Withdrawal/Transfer Request form and submit it to your child’s school office. Please return your child’s school-issued Chromebook to your child’s school.

Web Safety Filtering for Student Chromebooks

School-issued Chromebooks for students in grades 5-12 include a web content filtering system.
