Two teams of artists from Anthony Wayne High School took part in the Chalk the Walk competition at the Black Swamp Arts Festival in downtown Bowling Green on Saturday, September 9. The event, sponsored by the BG Rotary Club pits high school teams against each other as they race against the clock to create an eight-by-10-foot streetscape aligned with a theme. This year's theme was "Celebrating the Arts" in honor of the festival's 30th anniversary.
This year, 10 teams participated, representing Anthony Wayne, Bowling Green, Eastwood and Wayne Trace. Each team received a $330 participation grant for their school art programs, and those earning awards took home additional cash prizes. Anthony Wayne's teams each earned bragging rights and an additional $65 for the high school art department.
