Dear Anthony Wayne Local Schools Stakeholders:
We want to make you aware of an event happening at Anthony Wayne High School tomorrow morning that may cause concern.
On Monday, April 28 from approximately 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. AWHS, in partnership with local first responders, will host a simulated automobile accident on Campus. This dramatized scenario aims to demonstrate the potential devastating impacts of impaired and distracted driving.
There will be a realistic, live response from our local police and emergency services departments. There will be police and fire trucks, an air ambulance and other vehicles and personnel involved in the event.
The demonstration is designed to be impactful and remind AWHS juniors and seniors of the potential dangers associated with substance use and distracted driving. Our goal is to promote safe decision-making and remind students that their lives and future plans can be dramatically impacted by their choices.
We understand that emergency vehicles on school property can cause alarm. Please know that this is a planned and staged event.
We are grateful for the ongoing support of our local police and emergency services personnel in presenting this bi-annual simulation for our students.
