Anthony Wayne Families,
We hope this letter finds you and your family well. There are plenty of colds and flu circulating in our community, and we want to remind everyone of a few ways to help reduce the spread of illness.
Try to avoid close contact with those who are sick.
Keep your child home when they are not feeling well.
Cough or sneeze into your elbow, or cover your mouth and nose with a tissue.
Wash your hands with soap and water or hand sanitizer.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
Practice other good health habits such as getting enough sleep, staying hydrated and eating healthy foods.
While there has been some brief instances of increased reporting of cold and flu symptoms, attendance is fairly typical for this time of year. Our custodial staff is working hard to keep our classrooms and common spaces as clean and sanitized as possible.
District administrators are closely monitoring student and staff absences and will respond appropriately if illness numbers show a dramatic increase.
Our Nursing Services Handbook has information about determining if your child is too sick for school, medications at school, how to report an absence and when your child can return to school.
Please remember to keep your contact information up to date in the office. It’s important that we can reach you if your child becomes ill while at school.
If you have any questions about your child’s health at school, please contact your school nurse.
Sincerely,
