The Anthony Wayne Technology Department is seeing an increase in the number of student Chromebooks that have been damaged due to mishandling. The following guidelines are provided to help keep your device in good working order:
- Keep your device charged. Leaving the battery drained over the winter break can reduce its life.
- Do not use your Chromebook in a hazardous environment. It should be kept away from liquids, direct sunlight, extreme hot and cold temperatures, etc. Please do not leave it in your car.
- Make sure your device is kept out of reach of others. Curious children visiting over the holidays can easily damage your Chromebook.
- Do not store papers in your Chromebook, or close the screen when pencils or other items are in the way. There have been many instances of broken screens when computers are used as folders.
- Keep Chromebooks safe and secure at all times.
Please remember:
- Loss of a device is considered neglect and is not covered under the Chromebook Protection Plan.
- If a device is stolen, a police report will have to be provided to the AW Technology Department in order to replace it. Without a police report, families will be charged the full replacement cost of the Chromebook before the District can replace the device.
