Education

Career Technical Education (CTE)
PENTA Career Center is a career technical education center that serves Anthony Wayne Local Schools and other districts in our region. Students may choose to attend PENTA as a sophomore, junior or senior.

  • The Sophomore Exploratory Program is for students who would benefit from slower-paced instruction and an opportunity to explore two career fields that have been chosen based off results from their Career Assessment.
  • Juniors and Seniors may attend programs of their choice, but some programs are in high demand and have waitlists or rigorous requirements.
  • Special Education services are available at PENTA Career Center, including career assessment services, job placement and job training.
  • Adults can participate in job training at PENTA. They can complete a number of different programs for gainful employment or to earn their GED.

College

Students who would like to attend higher education after high school must know that the university education system is very different than what they experienced in high school.

In college, there are no IEPs or laws requiring professors to ensure students are getting the accommodations they need. Instead, students are required to advocate for themselves and seek out their own accommodations and inform their instructors of their disabilities and needs.

The links to the below provide more information on the specific services provided by local colleges.
