The Ability Center
The Ability Center offers a range of resources, including employability instruction. Students in grades 10-12 can participate in an employment and independent living summer program to practice skills.
Ohio Means Jobs
A great resource for all students, OMJ allows them to research various careers, explore education and training opportunities, post a resume online and receive employment assistance.
Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities
OOD is the main resource for students to have the support they need to be employed and live independently. It's important to invite them to ETR/IEP meetings while students are in high school to begin services as soon as possible.
Ticket to Work
This is a free program offered by the Social Security Administration that allows people to collect SSI while earning their own wages. Adults ages 18-64 who qualify for SSI can participate in Ticket to Work.
