The State of Ohio introduced new, long-term graduation requirements for the class of 2023 and beyond. These new requirements consist of three key components:
Course Completion: Students will satisfy Ohio and Anthony Wayne Local Schools curriculum requirements by completing a minimum of 21 credits, with specific credits required in each content area.
Demonstrating Competency: Students can demonstrate competency by earning a score of 684 in ELA II and Algebra I on the Ohio State Tests (OSTs). Those who do not meet this score, will follow an alternative path to competency.
Demonstrating Readiness (seals): Students will demonstrate readiness for their post-high school path by earning two diploma seals that will allow them to demonstrate important foundational and well-rounded academic and technical knowledge, professional skills and leadership and reasoning skills. |
