College Credit Plus

About the Program

College Credit Plus (CCP) is a statewide program that allows eligible students in grades 7-12 to earn college and high school credits at the same time by taking college courses from approved community colleges or universities. A series of high-quality general education courses are offered at AWHS, on campus, or online.

Tuition, books and fees are free for students who attend a public school in the state of Ohio.

Anthony Wayne Local Schools holds CCP agreements with Bowling Green State University, Owens Community College and The University of Toledo.

All policies and rules are subject to legislative and/or ODEW or Ohio Department of Higher Education change.

Student Responsibilities

Students are responsible for ensuring:

they are enrolled in a minimum of five (5) classes between AWLS and the university EACH SEMESTER (either online campus) or 12 semester hours EACH SEMESTER if intending to be a full-time CCP student.
ensuring that they are not exceeding the state-imposed 30-hour limit (including summer) for each year and 120-hour lifetime limit.
ensuring they are enrolling in level 1 courses unless/until they meet the qualifications for level 2 courses.
ensuring that they are not enrolling in any non-allowable courses including, but not limited to physical education.
athletic eligibility and providing grades upon request of the athletic director.
they have adequate travel time between AWLS and the university. Students will not be allowed to arrive late or leave early from AWLS, except in the case of an emergency or inclement weather.

New Students

Instructions for Applying for CCP

AWLS students in grades 6 - 12 who qualify for college admission and are interested in the College Credit Plus Program must complete the following to be considered:

Both students and parents must view a mandatory virtual counseling session posted in grade level Google Classrooms.
Specific details, including the risks and rewards of the CCP program are presented during this session.
Following this counseling session:
- The student must complete a Google Form confirming the video has been viewed.
- The student and parent/guardian must sign the Counseling Session for College Credit Plus Participation form and return it to the HS office.
Complete the Intent to Participate form (available in the Counseling Office) by April 1 to be eligible to participate for the following school year.
The Intent to Participate form can be submitted by November 1 for students wishing to participate in the spring semester only.
Follow all steps and meet deadlines to apply for acceptance into the college/university, including requesting high school transcripts and counselor forms.

Submit an online CCP Transcript Request (found in Class Google Classroom).
- Transcripts will not be sent unless all previous steps are completed.

Follow AWLS, CCP and college/university deadlines and requirements for application, testing, registration and orientation.
Provide Anthony Wayne High School a copy of the college schedule to adjust, if necessary, the student's schedule at AWLS.

The decision to admit or deny a student lies with each university in alignment with Ohio Department of High Education guidelines. This includes a minimum cumulative, unweighted GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Failure to complete any of the above steps or meet any stated deadline will prevent the student from participating in CCP.

Returning Students

Instructions for Re-Enrollment

Eligible AWLS students who are continuing the CCP program at the same college/university as previously attended must complete the following steps to re-enroll:

Ordering Class Materials

AWHS provides CCP books and materials to students, and they remain the property of AWHS.
As required by state law, AW supplies required materials only. AWHS is not responsible for purchasing supplemental or optional items. If materials are made available online for free, the District also will not order a paid version.

Steps for Ordering Materials for BGSU and Owens Community College

Materials will not be immediately available. Please allow plenty of time before your class begins to submit your order to allow time for processing and shipping.

STEP 1: Find which book(s) you will need for your class(es):

STEP 2: Complete the AWHS CCP Materials Order Form for each of the books, manuals or codes that you need. Please do not order CCP materials from the university bookstores or on your own.

STEP 3: Once you complete the order form, your order will be processed. You will be notified when your materials arrive at the AWHS Cashier's Office.

RETURNING MATERIALS: ALL materials must be returned by the specified deadline at the end of the semester. Please notify the AWHS Cashier if you need to use the same book for a second semester. Students will be billed for any unreturned materials.

Steps for Ordering Materials for The University of Toledo

The University of Toledo Bookstore handles all CCP student orders. Most materials are sent digitally to students on the first day of classes. Please refer to the Frequently Asked Questions document provided by the university for more information.

How do I set up my BGSU account?
Once admitted, students will receive an email with next steps. This email will include a personal BGSU ID# that you will need to set up your online MyBGSU account.

Who do I contact if I can’t log into my account?
Call BGSU Technology Support at 419-372-0999.

How do I find my BGSU email?

Log into your MyBGSU account
Select the Student Center, then
Click on Profile. Your official university email address will be listed under your contact or personal information.

How do I find my academic advisor?

Log into your MyBGSU account. (Note: It can take 24-28 hours after setting up your MyBGSU account before you are able to schedule an advising appointment in Navigate.)
Select the Navigate icon in the center of the page.
Click Schedule an Appointment
Select Advising.
Appointments can be made virtually or in-person. Follow the prompts to complete CCP New Online or on BGSU's Campus student appointment scheduling.

How do I register for classes?
All students enrolling in a course on BGSU’s campus or online with BGSU must schedule an appointment to meet with their Academic Advisor. Schedule by calling 419-372-1537 or emailing BGSU.

How do I complete course placements (WRIT, World Language, etc.)?
Course placements are not required for admission to BGSU. However, some BGSU courses may require a placement assessment to determine the appropriate course level for each student. This generally applies to writing, math, or world languages. Discuss with your academic advisor if a course placement is needed. Get further details.

How do I sign up for a parking permit?
CCP students taking classes on campus at BGSU must register for a parking permit. Initially, the cost of the permit will be billed to the student’s BGSU Bursar account (do not pay with a credit card). It will later be waived from the account.
